Honey Barbeque Chicken Wings

Mmmmm... everyone loves barbeque chicken wings. The great thing about these wings is not only can you serve them up for dinner; they make great appetizers, too! These wings can be made on the grill, but they are just as good in the oven, too. Make them year round... they would make great easy party appetizers for New Year's Eve or any night of the week.

The sauce is simple to make and is really tasty. The trick when you use the oven is to apply the sauce to the chicken after it is done, then put it back into the oven for a few minutes so the sauce cooks onto the meat. It is really good. This sauce has a little bit of spice to it; if you do not like your sauce spicy, you can leave out those ingredients and you will still get a great sauce. Serve them while they are nice and hot from the oven for the best flavor.

For appetizers, serve them up on a large platter with some tongs so guests can help themselves without getting sticky. For a meal, pair them up with potatoes, pasta or a fresh salad for a delicious meal you will not soon forget. This simple dish lets you enjoy the flavor of barbeque chicken wings whenever you want, so dig in. There is no reason to go without this delectable flavor. Learning how to cook barbeque chicken wings was never easier.

2 dozen chicken wings
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon sugar
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon black pepper
¼ teaspoon cayenne
Cooking spray

Sauce:

1 cup prepared barbeque sauce, preferably hickory flavored
½ cup honey
2 Tablespoons ketchup
2 Tablespoons hot sauce
4 Tablespoons butter
½ teaspoon garlic powder

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wash the chicken wings, and then pat them dry. Season them with the salt, pepper, garlic, cayenne, sugar, and paprika.

Spray a baking pan with cooking spray.

Place the wings in a single layer in the baking pan and place inside the oven.

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, turning once. You may need to cook longer depending on the size of the wings and the calibration of your oven.

While the wings cook, combine the barbeque sauce, honey, ketchup, hot sauce, butter, and garlic powder in a sauce pan on low heat. Set aside.
