It will be a much lighter version of the appetizer, and will be a great choice for those who are trying to watch their weight. Seeing, as the prawn is fairly low in fat, the only thing that you need to be concerned about is the cream cheese. By buying low or non-fat cream cheese, you ensure that your appetizers are as fat free as possible.
Ingredients -
˝ pound of prawn
1 pack of canapés
8 ounces of cream cheese
1 teaspoon of lemon zest
1 lemon
Dill
Chives
Salt and pepper, to taste
Preparation:
To begin, chop the prawn as small as you can, similar to the way that you would chop garlic for a regular dish.
Place the cream cheese into a bowl, and mash it well to make it as liquid as possible.
Mix the chopped prawn, lemon zest, salt, and pepper into the cheese.
Chop the chives as small as you can, and mix them into the cheese along with the dill.
Cut the lemon in half and squeeze one half of the lemon into the bowl. Taste the canapés, and add lemon juice as desired. Make sure to add enough pepper to make the prawn slightly tangy.
Cut the canapés in half, and toast them lightly if so desired.
Scoop the prawn mixture into the bottom half of the canapé, and sprinkle some salt and lemon zest on top. You can add some red chili pepper to add some flavor, and you may find that a pinch of parsley works as well. Garnish with dill as desired, and place the top of the canapé on to complete your easy and quick appetizer.

It is best to purchase cooked prawns, as that way you do not need to worry about cooking them yourself.
