Easy Candied Walnuts Recipe

These are very easy party appetizers and you just need walnuts, sugar, and a little salt. A good tip for making candied walnuts recipes is to work fast when the sugar begins to melt because when it coats the walnuts it sets fast, meaning the walnuts will stick to each other. You might like to make a practice batch before you make these for a party.

You have about half a minute to separate them before they are permanently stuck together. Also, make sure you do not burn the walnuts when toasting them. Crunchy Candied Walnuts

Ingredients -

1 ½ cups raw walnut halves
½ cup sugar
⅛ teaspoon salt

Preparation:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F, and then toast the walnuts on a baking sheet in the middle of the oven for about 5 minutes.

Cool them in the pan on a rack.

Pour the sugar into a medium pan with a thick bottom.

Cook it over a medium heat, stirring until the sugar starts to melt.

Keep stirring until the sugar is amber in color and completely melted.

Add the walnuts immediately, stirring and coating each one in the syrup.

Spread the walnuts on a rimmed baking sheet, which has been lined with wax paper or parchment paper, and separate them using a pair of forks.

Sprinkle the salt over the nuts and let them cool.
