This is one of the best fancy appetizer recipes to make for a buffet because you can make everything in advance and keep it all in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve. The crudités are simply carrots and cucumber, sliced into batons, although you can use halved raw mushrooms, bell pepper batons, or even celery.
For the trio of dips, it is always nice to have three slightly different colored ones, so we are using an onion dip, a peach dip, and a sour cream dip. You can use other dips if you prefer though. Hummus would be nice, or you could try salsa or even make a hot dip recipe. It is best to make dips quite thick else they can drip off the crudités too easily and make a mess. Serve the dips in little matching bowls if you have three the same, else keep things quirky by using different ones.
If you are new to making easy party appetizers then this is a good one to begin with because there is really nothing that can go wrong. All you have to do for the crudités are cut the vegetables up and all you have to do for the dips is combine the ingredients. If you are chopping the crudités in advance then you will either need to keep them under plastic wrap or submerged in cold water in a container in the refrigerator, else they might dry out on the outside and this makes them taste less fresh.
