Easy Recipes to Make with Kabobs

These easy fruit and tomato kabobs also feature chunks of cheese. Although fruit kabobs are usually served for dessert, sometimes with a cream or yogurt-based dip alongside, vegetable ones and savory ones make great buffet food. This recipe can be adapted however you like. There are plenty of raw veggies which would work here, as well as fruit chunks. What about adding pineapple chunks, bell pepper squares or using two kinds of cheese? You can mix and match textures, flavors and colors, but avoid using anything which will melt, or anything which does not have the right texture to stay on the skewers.

As for cheese, you can use a hard cheese like cheddar or a softer one like feta or mozzarella. Parmesan would be too hard and crumbly and some cheeses are too soft, so go for something which is not too hard or too soft. If you want to serve a dip with this, then go for something which complements the sweetness of the tomatoes and grapes, as well as the creamy tang of the cheese. Garlic mayonnaise or lemon mayonnaise would work, or you can forget about the dip and just serve them as they are.

When it comes to fancy appetizer recipes, part of the appeal is how the appetizers look, and these are creative and colorful enough to demand a second glance. Kids and adults are enchanted by colorful kabobs and these only take a couple of minutes to put together. Make these in advance if you want to, keeping them in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve. Older kids can help you assemble these if you are catering for a large party, and sometimes it is nice to have an extra pair of hands if you are busy with other party-related tasks.
