The Best Fried Pork Wonton Recipe with Green Onions

Chinese style appetizers are always popular at parties and these crunchy pork wontons are easy party appetizers, which your guests will love. A tasty mixture of pork, green onion, and soy sauce is enclosed inside each wonton and then they are deep fried. These pork wontons are just as authentic as anything you would get in a Chinese restaurant and homemade wontons are even nicer than the restaurant ones.

You can make these pork wonton appetizers in advance if you wanted to, and then fry them when you guests arrive. A lot of hot appetizer recipes can be make ahead appetizers. Wontons are hot and crunchy and they make really good appetizers because they are filling but not too filling to detract from the main meal.

When you are deep frying these pork wontons, make sure the oil heats back up to 375 degrees F after each back, before you add more wontons. If the temperature is too low, the wontons will be soggy instead of crispy. Cool, creamy ranch dressing makes the ideal dip for these pork wontons. Alternatively you could serve sweet chili sauce as a dip. A thick dipping sauce is best, since it is less messy and it will cling to the wontons better.

Hot and Crunchy Pork Wontons

Ingredients -

1 oz dry ranch salad dressing mix
2 cups ranch salad dressing
2 egg whites
1 lb ground pork
1 tablespoon cornstarch
6 dozen wonton wraps
½ cup minced green onions
2 tablespoons soy sauce Canola oil

Preparation:

Break up the pork and add the onions.

Mix them together using your hands.

Add the dry dressing mix and cornstarch and stir, then add the soy sauce and mix well.

Put a teaspoon of the pork mixture into each wonton wrapper.

Beat the egg whites lightly using a fork, and then rub some around the edge of each wonton wrapper.

Press the wonton wrappers together so they form triangles and make sure they are all well sealed.

Heat the oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F, then add 2 or 3 wontons at once to the oil, and fry until golden. This takes about 3 minutes per batch.

Keep going until all the wontons are cooked, and then serve them with the ranch dressing for dipping.
