Our updated version adds a lot more to the recipe. It is healthier and full of flavors that everyone will enjoy. Even the kids will like this version with its chewy cranberries and colorful grapes. The Waldorf salad has become part of American culture. It is mentioned in a Cole Porter song, in novels and on television shows. The recipe has changed through the years, even though it has remained on the menu at the Waldorf-Astoria. Today you are more likely to find a dressing made with crème fraiche and honey instead of mayonnaise. The walnuts are more likely to be candied and minced truffles may even be added to the salad.
