Quick and Easy Turkey Canapes

If you are in a rush, you will love this recipe for delicious canapés because they are tasty but very quick and easy to make. Cold canapés are always popular at parties and this simple canapé recipe, with the bread, turkey, cheese and more are easy party appetizers, which anybody can make.

This canapé appetizer is made from ingredients you probably already have and if you like simple recipes for party appetizers canapés like this one are perfect. Once you have completed the cheese layer, you can trim the canapés with a knife to make sure the layers match, or you can leave the edges overlapping a little for a more homemade look.

These are easy make ahead appetizers and you can make a batch of them, arrange them on a serving platter, and put some plastic wrap over the top until you are ready to serve them. These canapés will keep for an hour or two in the refrigerator without going soggy. Feel free to change the ingredients if you want to. It is good to aim for a diversity of flavors and textures and, of course, different colors. However, you might want to use chicken or pate instead of the smoked turkey. You can also use any kind of bread and any other toppings.

Colorful 5 Minute Canapés

Ingredients -

4 slices bread
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
4 slices mesquite smoked turkey
4 lettuce leaves
4 slices cheese
16 slices cucumber
16 cherry tomatoes
16 parsley leaves
16 cocktail sticks

Preparation:

Cut each slice of bread, turkey, lettuce, and cheese into 4 equal sized squares.

Arrange the 16 squares of bread in one layer on a serving plate and dab a dot of mayonnaise on each.

Then top each one with a square of turkey, a square of lettuce, a square of cheese, a cucumber slice, a tomato and finally a parsley leaf, securing the canapés with a cocktail stick.
