Cucumber Cream Cheese Appetizer
There are many delicious cold appetizers that are the perfect way to add elegance and class to your party. Many of the tastiest appetizers are the mini pizzas and mini quiches that are so popular, but there are a number of simple appetizers that can be made with some ingredients found around your home. You may find that using these simple ingredients will make appetizers that are as quick to make, as they are delicious.
The following recipe is a unique one for a cucumber and cream cheese appetizer. The cucumber is simply cut into slices, and serves as the base of the appetizer. The cream cheese has milk added to it to water it down, and is mixed with chili powder, a bit of chipotle sauce, salt, and pepper for a unique, slightly spicy flavor. When topped with a slice of black olive, a small cube of roasted red pepper, and a sprig of dill, this appetizer is as decorative as it is tasty.
It is important to add enough milk to make the cream cheese creamier, as you will be using an icing bag with a thick nozzle to squeeze the cheese onto the cracker. You will find that this appetizer will be a unique treat that will make your party seem much more elegant as the result of its unique appeal.
Cold Cucumber Cheese Appetizer
Ingredients -
12 oz of cream cheese
1 small cucumber
½ cup of black olives
½ cup of roasted red peppers
Sprigs of dill
Canned chipotles
Chili powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
⅓ cup of whole milk
Preparation:
To begin, place the cream cheese in a small mixing bowl. Add a few tablespoons of milk, and mix the cream cheese. Continue adding milk until the cream cheese is the consistency of thick cream.
Chop the chipotles, and add them to the cheese along with the chili powder, salt, and pepper.
Pour the cream cheese mix into an icing bag with the largest nozzle attached.
Cut the cucumbers into slices, and place a dollop of the cream cheese on each slice.
Slice the olives and cut the roasted red peppers into cubes, and place one piece of each on every dollop of cheese.
Finish the decoration by adding a sprig of dill to make it look beautiful.
